Wausau School District

Mr. Stachovak

Born in Wausau and growing up on the east side I attended Longfellow/Hawthorne Hills elementary then John Muir middle school (when there was only one middle school) and finally graduated from "the old" Wausau East in 1993. After working for a few years as a window glazier in the local window plants, I went back to school at NTC in Wausau and earned associates degrees in Small Business Management and Residential Design.

My introduction to carpentry came at the age of thirteen when I went to work with my uncle in his small remodeling business. After school my career path took a serpintious route from CAD drafting in an architects office in Florida, to working as a carpenter in California, and eventually as a licenced contractor in Wausau. Now, with twenty-five years of experience in the residential construction industry, I am in the classroom hoping to empart at least a little of the passion and reward I get from building on to the next generation.

Outside of teaching and construction, I enjoy many of the outdoor pursuits that Wisconsin has to offer. From hunting and fishing to snowshoeing, I enjoy it all. I must also say that I enjoy kayaking and canoeing more than a normal person should admit. My work and outdoor adventures have taken me to the four corners of our country and to locations abroad and I look forward to sharing those experiences with my students.
