Carol Lukens

Welcome! My name is Carol Lukens and I have been an advisor at EEA Learning Academy since December, 2011. From 2007-2011, I worked at Northcentral Technical College Alternative High School, teaching Social Studies and also administering a college and career program. Prior to that, from 2004-2007, I taught U.S. and World History at Wausau West High School and worked as a substitute teacher in many different academic subjects for the Wausau School District.

At EEA Learning Academy, I teach reading skills, experiential learning, full day seminars in various academic subjects, and work with students on our online curriculum. I also serve as a staff member of our Governance Board and our RtI academic team.

Teaching is a second career for me. I worked for 14 years as a paralegal in the Wausau area before returning to school to obtain my education degree. In 2004, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the majors of History and Broadfield Social Studies and a minor in Psychology from UW-Stevens Point. In addition to my certifications for grades 6-12, I am also certified through the Wisconsin Technical College System, am a professional tutor at Northcentral Technical College, and am currently working on a Master of Arts degree in Reading Science and Dyslexia Certificate through Mount Saint Joseph University in Ohio.
