Virtual Learning Days:

During the remote learning days all math classes are utilizing MATHia the Carnegie Math online component that students have been using all school year.  In addition to MATHia the Algebra 1 class is using a Khan Academy classroom for their daily instruction and learning checks.  Pre-Algebra and 8th grade math are using Google Docs as well as learning checks and quizzes on itsLearning and Edulastic.  Daily plans and needed links are posted on your student's itsLearning calendar.  I update my grade book in Infinite Campus one to two times per week.

My virtual office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00. I will be available for students and/or parents to email and get an almost immediate response during these times.  I can also set up a Google Hangout or if you would prefer that I call you, please email me ([email protected]) and we can set up a time to talk. We are all in this together!! Please let me know how I can support your family.

Bio information:

Hello!  My name is Elizabeth Oestreich (pronounced A-Strike).  I teach 7th and 8th grade math at Horace Mann Middle School.  This is my 17th year teaching in the Wausau School District.  During my career I have taught math at Horace Mann Middle School and Wausau East High School.  I earned my undergraduate degree in mathematics and education with a minor in Norwegian from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD.  I earned a masters degree in counseling foundations from Concordia University in Mequon, WI.  When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family biking and cross country skiing.  I look forward to a great year of math learning!
