Jason Sinz

Hello!  I'm excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the great staff at Wausau West High School.  The 2015-2016 school year marks my ninth year as an English-Language Arts teacher in Wausau.  Prior to coming to Wausau, I taught English-Language Arts courses in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin for 11 years.  Throughout my teaching career, I've also enjoyed coaching Football in the fall and Track and Field in the spring.

This year, I'm teaching Composition, an elective course in expository (non-fiction) writing for sophomores through seniors; E10, a study in writing strategies and American Literature for sophomores; and Real World Writing, an elective course in writing strategies for the world of work and practical applications for juniors and seniors who are technical college, military, or employment bound.  Traditionally, I've taught Advanced Composition to West High's seniors and really enjoyed its focus on inquiry-based research and related essay writing and seminar presentations.

I'm also a varsity Football coach in the fall and the Head Boys' Track Coach in the spring.  These sports seasons are real passions for me, and allow a different opportunity for student engagement and learning that extends our process beyond the hours of the ordinary school day.

My lovely wife Amber and I have been married for 14 years, and we have daughters Sophie (10), Celia (8), and son Tate (5) all in the Wausau School District as well.  Together, we love to spend time outdoors in all of Wisconsin's seasons and enthusiastically support all of the Wisconsin sports teams.

If you have any questions or comments you'd like to share with me, I can be reached at 261-0850, ext. 34290.  Please feel free to leave me a message as I'm rarely in my office.  My gmail account is [email protected]
