Mrs. Tammy Steckbauer

Professional Experience

My name is Tammy Steckbauer and this is my 22nd year in education.  During my career, I have worked in a variety of positions which have provided me with many rich experiences that I have brought with me to Rib Mountain Elementary.   This year I begin my sixth year as Rib's building principal.  In addition to this role, I also serve as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator for the Wausau School District.   2017-18 marks the beginning of my fifth year serving in this capacity.

Prior to joining the Wausau School District, I worked for the Merrill Area Public Schools for four years, two years as a teaching principal at Maple Grove Elementary as well as two years as a substitute teacher and principal for the district.  My career was put on hold for seven years to stay at home to raise our two young children.  Before that time, I worked for the New Holstein School District for four years in a 4K-Grade 8 Elementary/Middle School serving as an assistant principal for two years and then as the building principal for an additional two.  My start in education was gained in the Princeton School District where I taught English to students in grades 5 through 8 for eight years.

The best ways to contact me are by calling Rib Mountain Elementary School at 715-261-0220 or by sending an email at [email protected]
